A convicted child predator is behind bars for intentionally exposing himself to trick-or-treating children and trying to lure them into his home.
On Sunday, youngsters out enjoying the Halloween festivities knocked on the door at 1144 E. 460 South in Provo, Utah. Expecting to be greeted with candy and other treats, the unsuspecting kids were met with a nude 48-year-old, Steven Kelley Little. What made the encounter even more dangerous was Little’s attempt to persuade the children to enter the house.
The kids quickly left the residence and went across the street, where their parents were waiting. After hearing what occurred, the father went to the house with one of his daughters to confront Little, who once again answered the door naked. The man ordered his daughter to leave and demanded that Little turn off the lights and not answer the door again for trick-or-treaters. He then phoned the police.
Unbeknownst to the father, Little is a convicted sex offender who has preyed on children in the past. Little told police that the reason he was naked was because he’d just gotten out of the shower and claims that he only told the children to come inside because “that’s where the candy was.” At least five children over 14 and three under 14 confirmed that they witnessed Little’s private area when he opened the door.
Given Little’s 2018 arrest, it seems unlikely that he was attempting to innocently entice the children in his home with the promise of candy. In September of that year, he was arrested for watching a 10-year-old boy use a restroom inside the Provo Recreation Center. Little was naked and making “sexually suggestive sounds” as he touched himself and watched the boy. He pleaded guilty in March 2019 to lewdness involving a child and was sentenced to serve a year in jail. However, that sentence was suspended, and he was placed on probation.
