As the investigation continues into the strip club incident involving Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor, sources are now saying that the real story has to do with an argument over money.
Earlier on Friday, the Eagles released a statement confirming that the police were looking into a claim of sexual assault against Agholor after a dancer says he had raped her. The alleged incident took place at Cheerleaders Gentlemen’s Club in South Philadelphia on Thursday afternoon where Agholor, as well as a few other Eagles players, were hanging out.
A source close to the situation says that the dancer and Agholor went into a private room together but she left before her time was up. As a result, when it was time to pay, Agholor only paid her $800 because she cut the time short, even though the woman wanted $1400, which is the going rate for an hour in the private room. Other dancers in the club back up Agholor’s story and say that he didn’t do anything. Additionally, sources say that the accuser never mentioned to management that she was sexually assaulted.
Given the circumstances, Agholor’s attorney, Fortunato Perri Jr., feels that his client will be off the hook in no time. “Nelson has not engaged in any criminal conduct,” he told PhillyMag.com. “We’re confident that he will not be charged with a crime.”
