Sexual Assault Lawsuit Filed Against Marilyn Manson Dismissed by Federal Judge

Tuesday, a California federal judge dismissed a sexual abuse lawsuit filed against Marilyn Manson.

The suit filed by Ashley Morgan Smithline accuses the rock musician of multiple instances of rape and abuse between 2010 and 2013 during their on-again, off-again relationship.

June 2021, Smithline became the fourth woman to file suit against the 53-year-old, whose real name is Brian Warner. However, Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha officially dismissed the case Tuesday after the model filed a motion to withdraw representation under her former attorney Jay Ellwanger and then failed to find a new lawyer or choose to represent herself by the court-ordered Dec. 5 filing date. Smithline will be able to re-file her claim if she chooses.

Manson previously denied Smithline’s allegations stating in 2021, “There are so many falsehoods within her claims that we wouldn’t know where to begin to answer them,” per the Los Angeles Times.
