Shannon Sharpe could find out that LeBron James had to face The Monstars, and he would still put all his money on the King.
Sharpe did it again on Monday of First Take when he put up his $3,200 steak for a few $6,400. That is if Los Angeles can defeat Denver on the road in Game 5. LeBron James led the way with 30 points as the Lakers got their first win in the series against the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, winning 119-108.
Stephen A Smith does not think that the Lakers have a chance of winning this game tonight.
“I would be ecstatic if the Lakers came back,” Smith told Sharpe on First Take this morning. “But am I a believer? Hell no, I think they got get smoked tonight.” Sharpe did not waste any time telling Smith he’d run his bet back for double or nothing.
“I’ll run it back, I’ll make it double or nothing,” Sharpe told Stephen A Smith. Smith was curious if Sharpe was suggesting that the Lakers could win the series, where he emphatically explained to Smith that this was a bet for only the game tonight.
“They got to win tonight! Tonight, you said they getting smoked tonight,” Sharpe told Smith. Smith is curious if there is even a $6,000 steak. Sharpe looked at him like he knew exactly where they were going before he told Laker Nation to stand up.
“Laker Nation we got him! Stand up. Matter of fact, probably about 5 o’clock this afternoon you’ll look up in the sky. That ain’t no bat signal, that’s a crown. It’s the GOAT crown, it’s up in the sky. It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Goat man Goat man, yeah that’s him.”
