Nelly and longtime girlfriend Shantel Jackson have reportedly called it quits. The pair had been dating since 2014.
Jackson revealed the news in her Instagram comments when a follower asked if they were still together.
“No we’re not ….. Just friends,” she responded.
In October, Nelly gushed that Jackson was “the one” and that they were working toward a possible engagement.
“I would not want my life to not have Shantel in it,” he said in a Dancing With The Stars video package. “We’ve been seeing each other for five or six years. Any time you can connect with somebody like that, it works out for the long run. She’s sweet, beautiful, and the more we got to know each other, she’s just as beautiful inside.”
Something significant must have changed between Nelly and Jackson since he shared that sentiment. However, it is not clear what may have caused the two to split.
