According to multiple sources and our friends over at ESPN.com, free agent Shawn Marion has made his decision to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The former Dallas Maverick forward made the choice to go with the Cavaliers over the Miami Heat, LA Clippers, and the Indiana Pacers during the past weekend. Sources state that Marion made his choice based on wanting to be on a team that would be a championship contender and the chance to play alongside Lebron James.
The 4 time All Star will sign with the team, although Cleveland is only able to offer him the minimum contract. The Cavaliers are expected to make an announcement during the week, while Marion is expected to sign his contract by the end of the month. It looks like Shawn isn’t the only free agent looking to jump on the King James bandwagon. The Cleveland franchise is also optimistic that fellow free agent Ray Allen will sign with the team as well.
With Lebron returning home and a slew of players following him, do you think that the Cavaliers have a chance at redemption this year?
