Sheck Wes is officially in the clear in his physical abuse case with ex-girlfriend, Justine Skye, after the L.A. County D.A.’s declined to pursue charges over lack of evidence.
Back in February, Skye took to Twitter to call out her ex for his history of abuse, claiming he once threw her phone across a room, slapped her in the face with money, jumped the fence of her home and more throughout their relationship. Although this wasn’t the first time Skye opened up about her domestic violence experience, this was the first time she addressed the “Mo Bamba” rapper publicly.
In response, Sheck denied the allegations, saying, “I’ve chosen to remain silent until now out of respect for actual victims of abuse. But I cannot stand by while lies are repeatedly told about me. I never hit or beat any women, and I did not beat up or jump anybody.”
Despite Sheck’s denial, Skye filed a police report. But now, more than a month later, prosecutors have declined to move forward with the case due to a lack of proof. However, according to a rep for Skye, a restraining order is still in effect.
“A judge in the Superior Court of California granted a restraining order against Sheck Wes that is still in effect, and the correlating case is still pending,” the rep told TMZ. “However, it is unfortunate that the Los Angeles District Attorney decided to not pursue any further action at this time, but that is often the case with many victims of domestic violence, which is why incidents like this go unreported much of the time.”
