Shocked Shrewsbury Woman Talks Seeing Beyoncé During Grammy Weekend and Being Featured on Her Instagram: “I think she posted it for me. So people would believe me”
Earlier this week, Beyoncé shared several photos of the all-black, Black Panther-inspired ensembles she rocked for Grammy weekend. However, one of the photos featuring a special appearance from a little Shrewsburg lady.
The woman displayed a shocked expression at the sight of the Queen, as anyone would in her position. But, the woman’s unforgettable night did not end with a Beyoncé sighting – days later, she saw herself on the Queen’s Instagram, sharing the moment with 110 million Instagram fans.
“I swear,” Susan Monaghan said after spotting the singer in the hallway of a New York hotel. “I felt like I was hugged by an angel.”
The moment occurred just one day before the biggest night in music, after Monaghan was returning to the hotel from dinner on the town, the Boston Globe reports. She took the elevator up to her room on the eighth floor.
When she got off the elevator, she spotted a slew of security guards and photographers- so she Kindly stepped to the side. However, as the group approached, she noticed a “handsome” man heading her way. “You look familiar,” she said, questioning, “Do I know you?”
Oddly enough, the man she recognized turned out to be Jay-Z, and as she looked to her right and spotted his wife, Beyoncé following close behind.
“I was like ‘Oh, my God!’” Monaghan recalled. “I looked at her and all I could think was, ‘No one is going to believe me. No one is going to believe me,’” she said, even saying it out loud a few times.
Shortly after the woman’s outburst, Beyonce smiled at her and went about her way. That is when Monaghan realized, she had been speaking to Jay-Z just before seeing Queen Bey. She then went to her room to reveal to her family that she just saw, but as she expected, they didn’t believe her. That is until Beyonce included her photo in her slide on Instagram.
When asked why she thought Beyonce added her in the slide, she said “I think she posted it for me. So people would believe me.”
