The Texas teenager who allegedly opened fire at his high school and injured four people reportedly celebrated his release from jail with a party even as one of the victims remains in a coma.
The 18-year-old suspect, Timothy George Simpkins, a student at Timberview High School, posted the $75,000 bond at Tarrant County Jail on Thursday and was released to home confinement.
Pictures and videos of Simpkins happily hugging family and friends were posted on social media shortly after his homecoming.
Simpkins was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the shooting, which left a 15-year-old boy, who was struck four times during the gunfire, hospitalized in a medically induced coma.
A Simpkins’ family spokeswoman claimed that the shooting was an act of self defense. The spokeswoman maintained that the teen was a constant target of bullying and harassment by bullies because of his nice clothes and fancy car.
