Two people dining at a bar in Houston were shot, one fatally by a gunman who turned the gun on himself.
Texas police say the couple was dining at the bar at Houston’s Downtown Aquarium on Thursday night when a man sitting on the other end of the bar walked toward them and shot them.
“This suspect got up, and in a very quick manner, went around the bar to the area where the male and female were together. That suspect at that time immediately started firing rounds,” Houston Police Executive Chief Matt Slinkard stated.
The suspect then fatally shot himself. The woman, who was shot at least once in the leg, survived the shooting and has been listed in stable condition, NBC News reported.
“We still have a lot of investigation to do,” Slinkard said. He also stated that “preliminarily, it appears that there was very little, or possibly no interaction at all” between the couple and gunman.
On Friday, police had yet determined a motive for the killing. The woman says she was married to the man that died and did not know the suspect.
