Lebron James’ new HBO show “The Shop” brings together a group of predominantly black celebrities from all walks of life in a barbershop setting to discuss various topics. It debuted Tuesday night on #HBO, garnering widespread praises and critical acclaim for opening discussions and allowing black celebrities to control their own narrative.
However, the infamous Jason Whitlock of Speak For Yourself on Fox Sports 1, was not impressed — at all. On his show, Whitlock spent a whole segment talking down about The Shop series. From the “token white guy,” Jon Stewart being a part of the conversation, to the men drinking wine out of “goblets” even down to comparing his traditional barbershop experiences to the authenticity of The Shop’s barbershop etiquette. He counted how many times a curse word was used. 75 to be exact. He even went as far to say, “Twitter just loves to see Lebron act so ghetto and ratchet.” Jason Whitlock clearly had nothing good to say about James’ project.

However, #MarcellusWiley wasn’t going to let Whitlock throw shade and not get touched with the Twitter fingers. He responded to the Whitlock banter by tweeting, “.@WhitlockJason should know actions speak louder than words. Enjoy these uncontested shock jock rants before I start because these won’t fly far on my watch. #oha”
This is all coming days before Wiley joins the “Speak For Yourself” show and becomes Whitlock’s new co-host. Now that is going to be an interesting combination to watch.
