Showtime has renewed popular series ‘Shameless’ for its 11th and final season.
‘Shameless’ follows the Gallagher family, who consists of six kids, with the eldest siblings raising the rest of the kids due to their father being a drunk incapable of raising his family.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming season will air this coming Summer.
In a statement, show developer John Wells thanked the network president for his support throughout the years, stating, “ I’m unbelievably thankful for all of the years of support from [Showtime Entertainment president] Gary Levine and everyone at Showtime that’s allowed us to make Shameless.”
The show is currently running its 10th season, which will conclude Jan. 26.
While this is the end of ‘Shameless,’ Wells has renewed his overall deal with the show’s producers, Warner Bros. Television. With the renewal of this deal, Wells will create other series, including his upcoming Netflix series ‘Maid,’ The Hollywood Reporter reports.
“It’s been a fantastic experience, and all of us in the cast and crew have had a wonderful time following the lives of the Gallagher family and friends. It’s been a pleasure!”
