“ShxtsNGigs” Podcast Hosts Face Backlash After Saying Atlanta Doesn’t Have A High Amount of “Baddies” [Video]

The hosts of the popular podcast “ShxtsNGigs” have been under fire after making an interesting statement about women in Atlanta.

Earlier this week, the British hosts James and Fuhad joined the “Pour Minds” podcast to discuss their bromance, podcast journey, and their experience in America.  While the conversation was entertaining and full of laughter, what stood out to viewers was James saying, “In Atlanta, I’ve seen the least baddies so far.”

This came as a surprise given Atlanta’s reputation for having a large, diverse group of women who are usually at the forefront of style and beauty.

Despite the statement not being intended to cause controversy, social media users didn’t appreciate it, with many defending the city and its women. In fact, almost immediately after the episode aired, fans took to various platforms to express their disappointment with James’ statement.  Many individuals believed that his comment was dismissive and disrespectful to black women, specifically.

One Twitter user wrote, “Comments keep saying they never said black women, but who else would they be talking about in a conversation about baddies in Atlanta on a show called Pour Minds.”

The shxtsngigs podcast seemed to be the only podcast with 2 men that wasn’t on some anti-black women shit

To add fuel to an already lit fire, the backlash resulted in users digging up an old clip of Andrew Schulz’s episode on the “ShxtsNGigs” podcast, where he spoke on the “black girlfriend effect” and made a statement claiming that black women cause stress and “complain about sh*t all the time.”

The entire situation led to criticism of the “Pour Mind” hosts, Drea Nicole and Lex P.  Some people blasted them for laughing at the statement instead of sticking up for Atlanta women. Additionally, the scrutiny later increased when Drea took to her Twitter to explain why she didn’t address James’ comment.

“I am from Houston, Texas..Born and raised!! A man’s opinion about women in Atlanta has nothing to do with me hun,” she wrote. “Why would I give push back about something I don’t care about?”

Nonetheless, the “ShxtxNGigs” hosts have not addressed the statement as of now.
