Shyne recently sat down with The Breakfast Club and discussed his history with Diddy.
After serving 10 years in prison for the 1999 nightclub shooting, Shyne revealed how much Diddy actually gave him: “He probably gave me 50 racks, and I’m like, you can’t be serious. Ten years for 50 racks.”
He talked about meeting Diddy in Paris and trying to forgive him. “I was still in a place where I feel he owes me. He owes me his life,” Shyne said.
He explained that Diddy’s career might not have survived if he had cooperated with the district attorney. “Who knows what would have happened with his career? That’s worth at least a couple of million dollars out of the billion dollars you’re worth.”
Shyne also backed Cassie’s lawsuit allegations, recalling how Diddy once spent half a million dollars on a shopping spree for her after an alleged assault. But when it came to Shyne, who took the fall for Diddy, it was a different story.
When DJ Envy asked if Diddy ever visited him in prison, Shyne said, “I think he came once, and I tried to spit in his face.”
He later admitted that prison destroyed his life and career, leaving him struggling to move forward. However, he made it clear that he didn’t let bitterness consume him. Instead, he used his time to focus on personal growth, strengthen his spirituality, and stay determined to rebuild his life.
