Sinbad is thanking everyone for the support in his first Instagram post since 2022, reflecting on his comeback after a stroke in 2020.
He hopped on Zoom call with the A Different World cast last week, kicking off a 10-city tour of historically Black colleges and universities at the Atlanta University Center in Atlanta.
“Thank you for your prayers, support, and positive thoughts. They’ve carried me this far and will see me through to the finish line. It really is a different world out here!,” he wrote Monday on Instagram.
In the clip, you can see the legendary comedian watching the event back on his phone in awe.
“Man, that was so cool,” he said, looking up at the camera as the audience erupted in applause.
“That’s beautiful!” he said of the recording.
Sinbad happily shared that he was surprised college kids knew who he was after a video of an auditorium full of students watched him on the big screen.
After his appearance, Sinbad received overwhelming support and well wishes from fans, students, and peers alike.
He said, “Those words are important, and I feel it — I feel those prayers.”
As he wrapped up his video, he made a sincere promise to those who have continuously supported him through difficult times.
“Expect to see more of me soon, and don’t freak out if you turn around and I’m standing right behind you. ‘Sinbad, I can’t believe you’re here!’ You can’t believe it? You better believe it. Miracles happen,” he concluded.
If you don’t know, the actor/comedian played Coach Walter Oakes for six seasons of A Different World from 1987 to 1993. The show was a spinoff from The Cosby Show, following Denise Huxtable (Lisa Bonet) to the fictional HBCU, Hillman College, in Virginia.
