Singer-songwriter Andrea Martin has passed at the age of 49.
On Monday, Martin’s family took to the musician’s Instagram page to share the sad and sudden news.
“Dear Family and Friends, it is with a heavy heart we inform you of the passing of our beautiful Andrea Martin also known as ‘Annie,’” the caption reads. “Andrea will always be remembered for her passion and dedication to her family and friends. Her impact will continue to be felt and heard for a lifetime.”
The post went on to say: “We thank you in advance for your condolences, love, compassion and understanding during this time.” Additionally, the family asked that people limit the number of calls and texts they send as the family figures of the logistics of Martin’s arrangements.
“Please limit calls as we are trying to finalize arrangements at this time. Once finalized, we will be sure to post arrangements. Forever a legend. April 14 – September 27,” said her family in the post.
The Grammy award-winning artist released her debut album The Best of Me through Arista Records, which carried her hit single “Let Me Return The Favor.” She’s also widely known for several hits for big-name artists, including Monica’s “Before You Walk Out of My Life,” En Vogue’s “Don’t Let Go,” SWV’s “You’re the One” and more.
