Six Flags is preparing to debut the world’s tallest, longest and fastest single-rail roller coaster later this year in New Jersey.
The Jersey Devil Coaster will open at Six Flags Great Adventure. The ride features four trains of 12 passengers, with one rider per row. Passengers will reach 3,000 feet and go up to 58 mph.
The amusement park revealed more details about the roller coaster in a press release.
“Jersey Devil Coaster riders will soar single file through the dark and foreboding woods over 3,000 feet of track. Inspired by infamous New Jersey mythology, the cutting-edge coaster will feature five intense elements, including three dramatic inversions.”
The roller coaster’s final piece was installed on Monday, though several steps need to be taken before the ride can open for park attendees. The devil-themed trains, ride station, and ride controls are just a few elements that still have to be added. The attraction also has to pass testing and inspections.
No official opening date has been revealed.
