“It’s 2025, we can’t blame white folks no more,” Slim Thug declared during his Instagram livestream. “We gotta let that go, kid. Them people, that wasn’t even these people. That was some people before them.”
The “Still Tippin” rapper emphasized that the time has come to shift focus toward individual and collective empowerment.
“At the end of the day, everybody showed us they can do it from scratch,” he continued. “So we can’t be worried, waiting on nobody to give us nothing. Everybody just gotta do it, no matter where you come from.” Reflecting on his own journey, Slim Thug shared, “I ain’t have s**t, and look at me now. So if I could have did it, you could have did it now.”
For the 44-year-old Houston staple, the key is action and mindset.
“We gotta stop making excuses. Stop waiting on motherf**kers,” he urged. Encouraging his audience to seek happiness intentionally, he added, “We gotta take advantage of this s**t. We gotta be happy on purpose, doing s**t that make us happy.”
It’s unclear what prompted Thug to speak out about but his comments sparked mixed reactions online, with some pointing out the racial injustices that Black people continue to face today.
