Legendary Motown figure Smokey Robinson is confronting a fresh allegation of sexual battery from a male worker who says he cleaned Robinson’s vehicles at his Los Angeles residence. According to TMZ, the man claims that on multiple occasions Robinson emerged wearing only underwear, touched himself in full view, and invited him into a room. He alleges that the situation escalated when Robinson “grabbed the guy’s hand without consent and attempted to force it onto his erect penis.”
This comes on the heels of a separate civil lawsuit filed by four former female housekeepers who claim Robinson committed sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, and gender violence between 2007 and 2024. They also allege his wife, Frances, created a hostile work environment, using ethnically derogatory language. In response, Robinson’s lawyer called the allegations “vile and false” and insisted that the claims are an attempt to extort an “85‑year‑old American icon.”
Robinson has also filed a $500 million countersuit against the four women, accusing them of defamation, emotional distress, and elder abuse. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Bureau confirmed an active criminal investigation into the allegations.
At this stage, no criminal charges have been filed, and Robinson continues to deny wrongdoing.
