Amazon has launched Amazon Access, a new portal to ensure that SNAP EBT recipients are receiving the best deals possible on their Amazon purchases.
This helpful new hub was built exclusively for those who receive SNAP EBT and provides features and programs that will offer additional discounts to families needing some extra help. One of the stand-out deals in Amazon Access is the decreased Amazon Prime cost for families who receive government assistance. Amazon is making their membership available for just $6.99 for qualifying members, which is more than a 50% cut.
Another excellent feature of Amazon Access is Amazon Layaway. Similar to most buy now, pay later structures, the layaway program is only available on select items. Customers will make a down payment of 20% of their total cost and pay for the remainder over time. This function is especially helpful during these holiday months when gift-giving can be a huge burden for families in the wake of inflation.
“Given the tough economic climate with many facing rising costs on essential needs, we want our customers to know about all the accessible offerings available on Amazon, no matter their circumstances,” Amazon said in a statement.
Retail analyst and managing director at GlobalData Retail, Neil Saunders, agrees that this resource will help families during this “difficult economic period.”
Amazon Access is available now for use. Shoppers are encouraged to check the portal for coupons before making their purchases.
