Snoop Dogg and Eminem are set to perform from the metaverse during the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.
The rap legends revealed Thursday that their performance will transport fans to “a first-of-its-kind performance … inspired by the world of the Otherside metaverse.”
MTV will team up with Yuga Labs to bring the performance to life.
According to reports, Snoop Dogg and Eminem plan to create buzz around the platform before its formal launch by using NFTs and the cryptocurrency ApeCoin in the new virtual world. The Doggfather and Slim Shady will play their current single, “From the D 2 the L.B.C.,” during their performance.
The song, which marks Eminem and Snoop’s first joint effort in more than 20 years, has even earned them a VMA nomination for Best Hip Hop video.
Snoop and Em will be performing on the V.M.A. stage together for the first time since they did so with Dr. Dre in 1999.
