Snoop Dogg extends some advice to the Los Angeles Lakers as he expresses his disappointment in their performance.
In a recent episode of All The Smoke, Snoop discussed potential improvements that could boost the performance of the Los Angeles Lakers, especially considering their lower standing in the Western Conference this season.
“We need to move some furniture around and put some dogs on the court, because anytime a young team comes to town, we freeze up,” Snoop explained. “Jeanie [Buss], think about it — what’re we built on? Get us some young guns out there.”
He then paused to recognize that LeBron James is still excelling in his game at the age of 39, highlighting his continued success.
“Old dog, you doing your thing,” Snoop added. “I’ma give you yours — cuh doing his thing.”
Snoop is not the only West Coast rapper with outspoken views on the Lakers. Just this month, Ice Cube appeared on The Pat McAfee Show to discuss various basketball topics. In the conversation, he expressed his opinions on the Los Angeles Lakers potentially securing victory in the NBA’s inaugural In-Season Tournament.
The Lakers clinched victory in the tournament in early December, defeating the Indiana Pacers with a score of 123–109. The rapper went on to emphasize that while the Lakers’ triumph in the tournament’s NBA Cup was noteworthy, it should not be equated with earning a championship banner.
“I don’t know if I count that as a banner. I think that’s more of a certificate,” Cube said jokingly. “We usually don’t hang nothing up but championship banners, so I guess this is cool if we need some extra window dressing. But for the most part, it’s a napkin.”
