Snoop Dogg has had a change of heart as it pertains to former President Donald Trump.
The Los Angeles superstar spoke with “The Sunday Times” recently, where he expressed his respect for the controversial presidential Republican candidate.
“Donald Trump?…. He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris,” Snoop Dogg shared with the outlet before adding, “So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.”
These words are a far cry from those of Snoop back in 2017. If you recall, he released a record titled “Lavender,” which depicted the reality star turned politician as a clown in the video. Snoop even fired a gun at him in the visual, which didn’t sit well with Trump and his Republican colleagues. When Trump was elected, Snoop continued to criticize him over his policies, bigotry, and other issues. However, it appears that Snoop’s change of heart may have something to do with Trump pardoning his associate, Michael Harris.
Harris was imprisoned on charges of conspiracy and attempted murder for over three decades. He was among several inmates who were granted pardons shortly before Trump exited the office, in a move many have slammed as nothing more than a ploy to gain support for a possible re-election. Snoop praised Trump at the time for his commutation of Harris.
“I love what they did. That’s great work for the president and his team on the way out,” the rapper told the New York Post at the time.
Snoop didn’t reveal if he’d be voting for Trump, though it would come as no surprise if he chooses to.
