Snoop Dogg has been revealed as one of the performers for Donald Trump’s inauguration, and fans are not happy.
The Los Angeles star will perform at the inaugural “Crypto Ball,” hosted by Trump’s affiliate David Sacks. This partnership might seem surprising, but Snoop’s relationship with the former reality star has been complicated for years.
In 2007, Trump praised Snoop’s music during “The Apprentice.” By 2011, the “Gin N Juice” rapper joined Trump’s Comedy Central roast. However, things soured in 2016 when Snoop supported Hillary Clinton and condemned Black artists performing at Trump’s inauguration, calling them “jigaboos” and “Uncle Toms.” But when Trump granted clemency to Death Row Records co-founder Michael “Harry-O” Harris, Snoop publicly thanked him and seemingly softened his criticism.
On Friday, Nelly was also announced as a performer for the inauguration. This makes him and Snoop the only hip-hop artists on the line-up.
