Snoop Dogg’s Son Quits UCLA Football Team

Bad news for the UCLA football team, Snoop’s son Cordell Broadus has quit football to pursue other passions.

Cordell was one of the most highly recruited high school football players in the country and was a four-star receiver prospect from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman High, ranking number 14 among receivers in the ESPN 300. He was an incoming freshman and hadn’t reported to UCLA’s fall camp which began Monday. He did, however, attend summer camp and will still be able to attend school at UCLA.

Sources say it’s likely that Cordell just wanted to do his own thing since he’s always been pushed towards football by his father.  Cordell had expressed an interest in film, more specifically through his company Film School Productions. “Cordell informed me yesterday that he has decided to pursue other passions in his life — in particular his love of film through his company Film School Productions,” says head coach Jim Mora. “Cordell is an amazing young man with many talents, and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues to pursue his degree at UCLA.

Just a day ago Snoop expressed his excitement over the new adidas UCLA football uniforms on Instagram. It’s likely he got the news of Cordell quitting when the rest of us did.

I’m here for anybody living their dreams. Best of luck to Cordell.
