“Snowfall” may be coming to an end, but fans may soon have a spin-off to take its place.
Deadline has reported that a new installment of the hit series is on its way to FX. The show is reportedly in its infancy, so few details have been revealed as writers work to develop its angle. However, one key component that is being reported is the series focusing on the prolific character of Wanda, portrayed by actress Gail Bean.
Wanda will be the focus of the new untitled series as she connects original storylines with a new lineup of characters. In “Snowfall,” fans watched as Wanda fell into crack addiction and became homeless before getting struggling to clean. The new series will likely focus on her sobriety and marriage. The number one question to emerge is what other characters will be joining Wanda on her new journeys through South Central, Los Angeles. Sources remain tight-lipped about that aspect.
Malcolm Spellman is set to write and executive produce the pilot. “Snowfall” co-creator and showrunner Dave Andron will also assist as executive producer alongside Trevor Engelson, Michael London, and Tommy Schlamme.
There is no word yet on when the spin-off may arrive on television screens.
