Apple has recently announced their iOS 18 update and it sending social media users into a frenzy!

While at the Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday, the tech company its new features that’ll be coming to iOS 18 and its AI-powered intelligence system called “Apple Intelligence.” According to Apple executive Craig Federighi, iPhone users will experience a smarter and powerful operating system including, scheduled iMessages, one-of-a-kind emojis, customizable interface, and an advanced Siri.

Additionally, iOS 18 will be available this fall as a free download for iPhone X model and later. Taking a look at some of the features, when it comes to customizability, users are typically met with a wallpaper and apps when they unlock their phones. However, with iOS 18, iPhone owners will now be able to put widgets and apps anywhere on the home screen, turn their iPhone into dark mode, and change the color tint of the home screen. The flashlight and camera shortcut on the lock screen will also be customizable.

With the password app, users can now easily store passwords, passkeys, Wi-Fi credentials, and verification codes. The app will also inform users if their password is too weak or have been reused. No to mention, the iOS 18 update will increase the iPhone’s privacy by allowing users to hide apps and lock with them with face ID or a passcode.

Another eye-catching feature of the update is the “biggest redesign ever” of the photos app. The redesign is set to revamp the way we see our photos and bring them together in an “unified to a single view.” Users will be able to filter out their photos by month or year, and even exclude screenshots. Too add to the big change, the new collections feature provides users with the option to organize photos into customizable sections and a daily-updating carousel.

Nevertheless, social media users had to chime in on the conversation, giving their opinions about the new iOS update. See what they had to say below:

With the new iOS 18 it’s literally just becoming more Android-y.. nothing that Android has not already done.

I’ll never fully understand the hype around Apple.
