Aries Spears recently sparked a social media frenzy with his comments about Black women wearing fake eyelashes. In a video, he addressed his thoughts directly:
“To all my beautiful Black queens out there, I want you to know from the bottom of my heart, I love you, I respect you, you’re beautiful and you’re mandatory. That being said, can some of y’all please for the love of God stop wearing them big fake eyelashes.”
He continued, “You have no idea, are you not aware of how ridiculous that s**t looks? It looks like you have pterodactyl wings on your face. You don’t need it!”
Spears didn’t hold back, calling the lashes a “horrible look” and comparing them to fake Brazilian Butt Lifts “for your face.”
Social media had mixed reactions to his comments. Some users agreed, saying they also find the large lashes unattractive, while others defended the beauty choice, arguing that people should be free to express themselves without criticism.
