Kim Kardashian‘s March 2022 cover issue was released Wednesday in which she opened up about prioritizing herself which ultimately contributed to her decision to divorce Kanye West.

As photos from the shoot made their rounds across the internet, fans could not help but point out similarities between Kardashian’s shoot and photos of iconic black celebrities.

Instagram page Diet Prada quickly pointed out looks from the spread that were seemingly similar to past photos of Beyonce, Nina Simone and Naomi Campbell.

“Kim and Vogue said “Black History Month,”” the post read, insinuating that the fashion publication purposely released the “copy-cat” photos during Black History Month.

Fans took to the comment section calling out the magazine and “thought leaders” in the fashion industry for labeling the beauty mogul as someone “redefining” beauty, while Black women, including those Kardashian is accused of copying, have been setting trends for decades. Other commenters believed Diet Prada’s post was a “reach” calling the spread inspiration and not appropriation.

Interestingly enough, commenters also caught supermodel Naomi Campbell in the “likes” seemingly agreeing with Diet Prada’s post. This isn’t the first time Kim has been accused of jocking Campbell’s style.

It also isn’t the first time the Skims founder has been accused of cultural appropriation. She’s also faced blackfishing criticism after wearing her hair in braids and appearing to purposely darken her skin in various photoshoots.

The “KUWTK” alum recently address those claims in an interview with I-D magazine, saying, “Obviously, I would never do anything to appropriate any culture,” she said this past December. “But I have in the past got backlash from putting my hair in braids and I understand that,” she continued.  “Honestly, a lot of the time it comes from my daughter asking us to do matching hair. And I’ve had these conversations with her that are like, “Hey, maybe this hairstyle would be better on you and not on me.”

What do you all think? Is she paying homage or appropriating? Sound off.
