Florida Man Sentenced to Life for Estranged Wife’s Murder and Dismemberment; His Father Also Sentenced for Helping Him

A husband in Florida was sentenced to life for the murder and dismemberment of his estranged wife in a bizarre bid to get custody of their son, and what’s worse is his father helped him do it.

Christopher Otero-Rivera and his father, Angel Luis Rivera, received life sentences, plus 20 years each, for the murder of Christopher’s estranged wife, Nicole Montalvo.

The father and son duo were convicted last April of second-degree murder, abuse of a body, and evidence tampering for murdering and dismembering Montalvo in an attempt to win a custody battle over their son.

The 35-year-old mother disappeared on October 21, 2019, after dropping her 8-year-old son off at the Rivera home. Investigators later found some of her remains inside the family home.
