Adrian Peterson, who spent a decade in the NFL as a RB for the Chicago Bears, has experienced heartache no parent wants to deal with. The former NFL baller took to his Facebook to announce that his 6 year old son, AJ, had died Tuesday morning after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor known as Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) last year.
“#AJsoars is in Heaven shere he belongs” Peterson posted to his wall, “My first super hero.”
Thousands gathered in support over the last few months, praying and raising money for AJ. The Make-A-Wish foundation even made his dream come true by swearing him in as an honorary Round Lake police officer.
Prayers go out to the Peterson family.
