Sony has announced the release of its second VR headset, PSVR 2. It is scheduled to arrive on February 23, 2023, for $550.
This is $100 more than its first PlayStation VR headset, the PSVR, which was marketed at $400. Unlike the first VR headset, The PSVR 2 will come equipped with a headset, sense controllers, and stereo headphones.
It will also include a power cord that requires the user to plug the headset into their PS5, meaning the headset is not cable free despite having more power.
According to Forbes, other companies, such as Meta, will face significant competition with the release of the PSVR 2. Meta has the Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro. The Quest 3 is planned to sell for approximately $400, and the Pro will sell for $1500 and be used for hardcore fans and enterprise use.
