A South Carolina man won the lottery twice, just 11 days apart.
What’s better than winning the lottery once? Winning it twice. According to CNN, the lottery winner was from Grand Strand, and he first won $40,000 on July 16. The second time, he won $3 million on July 27.
According to a Wednesday statement from the South Carolina Education Lottery, the man won off two Quick Pick tickets from Murphy USA gas station in Myrtle Beach.
The lotto winner says it’s his usual to stop by Murphy USA gas station for a fill-up and try his luck at winning the lottery. “I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “My family was shocked when I broke the news.”
“The odds of winning $40,000 playing Mega Millions are 1 in 931,001, and the odds of winning $3 million are about 1 in 13 million,” stated the South Carolina Education Lottery, the New York Post reports.
