April Jones, Walmart Injury

South Carolina Woman Awarded $10 Million From Walmart After Stepping On A Rusty Nail

A jury in South Carolina awarded $10 million to a woman who sued Walmart after stepping on a rusty nail.

April Jones sued Walmart for injuries she sustained after she stepped on a rusty nail while shopping at a Walmart in Florence, SC, in June 2015.

Jones had to have multiple surgeries on her foot, and eventually, her leg was amputated due to an infection caused by a rusty nail.

The mother and grandmother have used a wheelchair since the ordeal.

Jones’ attorneys said she would use the money to buy a prosthetic, update her home to make it more wheelchair-friendly, and to cover her medical expenses.
