Southwest Airlines Selling Tickets Starting As Low As $49 To Make Up For Recent Holiday Fiasco

Southwest Airlines has laid it on thick to make amends with customers following the company’s holiday travel chaos that left many stranded.

The Airline is selling tickets for as little as $49 through Thursday for those traveling later this month and into the spring, USA Today reported.

Over the holidays, Southwest canceled thousands of flights, leaving passengers and their bags stranded for days.

As a way to make amends, the commercial airline vowed to compensate those directly affected and take the appropriate measures from situations like this from happening in the future.

But they also decided to offer customers fares starting at $49 for those booking travel between Jan. 31 and May 17. The sale ends Thursday at 11:59 pm.

However, travelers should know the blackout dates, which are Feb. 16 and 20, with flights to San Juan, Puerto Rico, also excluded from March 9 through April 10. As well as travel from the mainland U.S. to Hawaii blacked out from March 16 through April 10.

The deals are available on certain days for some routes, most on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
