Southwest Launches Limited Companion Pass Deal for Three Days Only

Southwest Airlines has a pretty hot and tempting deal, but you must act quickly because it ends Wednesday. The airline announced the return of its beloved promotional Companion Pass offer.

Rapid Rewards Members who qualify can designate their Companion and travel with their Companion Pass, valid for unlimited usage from Aug. 15 through Sept. 30, 2023.

“Now more than ever, Customers are looking to get the most loyalty value from their purchases,” said Jonathan Clarkson, Vice President of Marketing at Southwest Airlines. “We’re continuously looking for opportunities to appreciate our Rapid Rewards Members, especially with this unique way to earn the coveted Companion Pass. It’s a great way for them to experience the value and many perks of our award-winning loyalty program, as well as our legendary Hospitality.”

Customers must register between April 3-5, 2023, and fly by May 24. Companion passes under the deal allow a traveler to choose a designated person to fly free of airline charges between August 15, 2023, and September 30, 2023, the airline’s website reads. However, that does not include taxes and fees from $5.60 one-way.

A qualifying customer who meets the promotion’s requirements, meaning they have registered, booked, and traveled on a qualifying round trip or two one-way flight(s) during the applicable dates listed under the terms and conditions, will receive an email within ten days. The email will confirm their qualifications and provide the next steps for designating a person.

Another perk is that customers can change their designated companion up to three times during the period.

Unfortunately, flights booked before registration doesn’t count toward qualification for the Companion Pass promotion.
