Two special episodes of HBO’s hit drama series “Euphoria” is set to premiere early on HBO Max.
The episode will be available for streaming on Dec. 3 at 9 p.m. PT, three days before the linear HBO premiere.
Both special episodes will be a follow-up to the season 1 finale, which showed Rue, played by actress Zendaya, using cocaine, then relapsing after her girlfriend Jules (Hunter Schafer) get on a train and leaving to go to a big city following their high school winter formal.
Rue sits in a restaurant reflecting on her life when she saw Ali (Colman Domingo), whom viewers were first introduced to at her Narcotics Anonymous meetings.
News of the special episodes was first introduced after HBO president Casey Bloys revealed to Deadline that a “special COVID episode” was in the works with production as a way to cover the lengthy gap between season 1 and season 2.
Zendaya, herself, then announced the news on Instagram, revealing that there will be two episodes instead of one.
“We really missed them. Two special Euphoria episodes coming soon,” Zendaya captioned, referring to a close-up picture of co-star Hunter Schafer’s eye staring at Zendaya’s character, Rue.
According to reports, the episode is titled “Trouble Don’t Last Always.” It will show the aftermath of Rue relapsing after being left by Jules at the train station.
There is currently no information on the title or release date of the second special episode of the hit series.
