Queen of Dancehall Spice has broken her silence, clearing the air about a recent health scare.
“The Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star broke her Instagram hiatus Wednesday to reveal that she was hospitalized last week and had to undergo emergency surgery after contracting sepsis.
“Thank you Jesus for saving my life. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Hey Besties I’m in a better space today to properly update you on my current health situation,” the “So Mi Like” singer said on Instagram.
She continued, “I suffered a damage hernia a few days ago that sent my body into sepsis, as a result I was rushed to the hospital for immediate surgery.”
She also dispelled rumors that she had been in a coma and suffered a heart attack following a cosmetic procedure.
“As you know I’ve been off Social Media for a while to rest mentally, so little did I know that during my medical scare it was already been said that I had a heart attack, I was in a Coma , and I also died 🤷🏾♀️but none of that is true,” she said.
“However I’m still recovering from what really happened so thanks so much for all the prayers and concerns, please take great care of yourself, eat, live, love laugh, like it’s your last day, I LOVE YOU ALL SO SO MUCH.”
Earlier this month, rumors surfaced that Spice suffered a heart attack and that she was placed in a medically induced coma in the Dominican Republic after developing complications during a cosmetic procedure. Many people across the world wished her a speedy recovery, including Minister Marion Hall, the former Queen of Dancehall who went by Lady Shaw.
Spice’s booking agent later denied the rumors, telling multiple publications, “Spice hasn’t had a heart attack, neither is she in a coma. Those are all lies.”
