The inspo? A viral trend where people were literally steeping tea bags in cold Sprite. Yup, the internet strikes again.
Kate Schaufelberger, Sprite’s brand director, said the drink was born straight out of the social media chaos. “It truly originated from social activity that went viral of consumers actually putting tea bags into Sprite,” she explained.
So Sprite said, why not bottle the vibe?
Sprite + Tea blends that iconic crisp Sprite flavor with chilled iced tea notes for what they’re calling the “perfect summer beverage.” It kicks off with that signature Sprite sparkle, but mid-sip hits you with a mellow tea flavor that’s giving porch-sippin’ energy.
And for those watching their sugar intake, Sprite got you covered—it’s available in both regular and zero sugar.
Starting May 19, Sprite + Tea is hitting shelves nationwide. But don’t sleep—it’s only here through October.
