Spur’s Danny Green Catches Flack For Partying At Miami Heat Victory Celebration

Thursday night the San Antonio Spurs were defeated by the Miami Heat. After a successful win, the Miami Heat celebrated their championship at Story, one of MIA’s newest hot spots. Besides the players, the wives and Drake there was another person in the crowd. Danny Green, shooting guard/small forward for the San Antonio Spurs. Even worse than Danny being there, he was pictured there. As a Spurs fan I was disgusted.

My thoughts on this are like quite a few others. I understand that Danny and Lebron both played for the Cavs in 2009 and didn’t expect Danny to sit home and cry about his loss, especially with his birthday being 2 days later. But I know one thing, as a person who used to play sports, under no circumstances would you catch ME at the opposing team’s victory party just minutes after they handed you an a** whooping. Who does that? Don’t bring up “good sportsmanship” either. Good Sportsmanship was Tim Duncan congratulating Lebron on the court. You don’t go to the party where they are screaming EFF your team and popping bottles for your defeat. I don’t care if Lebron and I shared our mother’s womb, I will call you Monday to congratulate you. I won’t show my face at your victory party when that victory was over me and you DEFINITELY won’t get me on camera there.

Also, I understand it was Danny’s birthday in a few days (June 22) but if Danny wanted to party in Miami for it, he could have flown back out. He got the money to do so.

Needless to say Danny caught a lot of flack after the photos and tweets surfaced that he was there. Rightfully so he responded. But his response was just as dumb as him being there in the first place. Check out the tweet:

Oh Danny, you’re telling me you fell into the same club Lebron was at on accident? That’s the excuse we’re giving today? My whole Twitter timeline knew where the victory party was going to be and you’re telling me that you showing up there wasn’t intentional? This is just as bad and as inexcusable as Erick Dampier and Mike Bibby partying with the Dallas Mavericks at LIV when they beat the Heat in 2011. Does Loyalty mean nothing?
