It’s tax season and Stacey Dash will be giving a lot more than receiving.
The Blast reports that the former actress was hit with a judgement for outstanding tax debt. According to a sister-state judgment obtained by The Blast, Dash owes $13,237.64 in back taxes stemming from a New York judgment back in 2016.
In total, Dash owed the New York State Commissioner of Taxation and Finance $10,507, but now the fee has increased from interest. The last we’ve heard of Dash was her short-lived run for a Congressional seat in California during the 2018 midterms. Dash later pulled out of the race.
She added, “My political positions have often been labeled as controversial, but the real controversy is how decades of government corruption and political disempowerment have created a system where skyrocketing home prices, dirty needles in the streets, and long bus trips to other districts for jobs are somehow considered acceptable by the government officials representing the 44th District.”
Dash ended her announcement by saying, “The people living here deserve better. I will continue to speak out about these and other problems facing this district, as well as the distractions that take the place of real change. I am grateful for the prayers, love, and support I have received.
Deciding to withdraw my candidacy was a difficult choice, but I have to go where I feel God is leading me.”
