Star Brim Slapped With RICO Charges

Star Brim, best friend of Bronx-bred superstar Cardi B and host of the newly formed podcast ‘Keeping It Bute,’ has been charged in a RICO.

Brim, whose real name is Yonette Respass, was reportedly one of 18 members of the 59 Brims Blood gang members indicted in the Southern District of New York on Tuesday.

According to NBC New York, Brim is accused of being the highest-ranking female member in the gang and is charged for slashing a person and participating in a racketeering conspiracy. Despite the sweeping roundup, Brim was not arrested as she is expected to give birth in the next few days. As a result, her lawyer is in talks with prosecutors to set a time and date for her to turn herself in.

Prosecutors say Brim was known as the “Godmother” of the “Street Lineup,” which is one of two rank structures for the bloods who are in prison and those who are free. The Godfather of the “Street Lineup,” Godfather Willie Evans, was also arrested on Tuesday and is facing two murder charges along with racketeering, firearms and conspiracy charges. The previous “Godmother” Jerlaine Little was arrested, as well.
