A joint business venture gone sour has led to a million dollar fight in court.
Al Reynolds, Star Jones’ ex-husband, went to Magic Johnson with plans to launch a contract with the New York Police Department through the former baller’s advertising and marketing company. According to Page Six, the plan was to gain the NYPD as a client as they were hiring for a consultant to help them “increase minority recruitment,” and all Reynolds asked for was three percent of the commission.
But, when the $54 million deal went through, Reynolds claims his check was never cut. That’s when he decided to bring the issue to a judge.
As a result, the former partner is asking for $5 million. On the other hand, Aaron Walton and Cory Isaacson, Johnson’s partners in the company, want the entire case thrown out and payback for lawyer fees.
