Star Wars is defending the star of its new series, Moses Ingram, following multiple racist attacks that she’s received online.
On Tuesday, Ingram revealed that she’d been the target of trolls online who called her racist slurs and slammed her for being a part of the new Disney+ show, “Obi-Wan Kenobi.” She even shared screenshots on her IG Story showing the hurtful comments. One user told Ingram that she was a “diversity hire” who wouldn’t be remembered for her acting roles. Another troll told Ingram that she wasn’t “the first n****r in starwarss.”

In a video to her followers, Ingram made a video addressing her 106k followers. She explained that the messages were just a tiny glimpse into the hundreds that she receives just like it.
“I also see those of you out there who put on a cape for me, and that really does mean the world to me because there’s nothing anybody can do about this,” Ingram shared in the video.
Star Wars quickly praised Ingram for her portraying Reva Sevander on “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and slammed anyone criticizing her for being in the show.
“If anyone intends to make her feel in any way unwelcome, we have only one thing to say: we resist,” Star Wars wrote in a tweet.
We are proud to welcome Moses Ingram to the Star Wars family and excited for Reva’s story to unfold. If anyone intends to make her feel in any way unwelcome, we have only one thing to say: we resist. pic.twitter.com/lZW0yvseBk
