Starz reveals ‘Down in the Valley,’ a documentary series inspired by its popular show, ‘P-Valley.’ The network is set to premiere a six-episode, 30-minute documentary about the Deep South, with Nicco Annan, who portrays Uncle Clifford on “P-Valley,” as the host.
The docuseries will dive into the diverse facets of Southern life, encompassing its people, music, culture, and narratives. Viewers can expect a wide-ranging exploration, from strip clubs to sex workshops, rap performances, and even ancient hoodoo rituals.
“P-Valley has authentically captured Southern Black culture in our fictional world of Chuccalisa and piqued the curiosity of our Pynk Posse to learn more,” Kathryn Busby, president of original programming at Starz, said. “Down in the Valley is a natural companion to our hit scripted series. We’re thrilled to be working again with Nicco as he invites audiences for a cultural exchange and understanding of the real South. Viewers will be captivated by the parallels drawn between the real-life experiences of Southern communities and the compelling narratives Katori shares in P-Valley.”
