Just four months before the highly-anticipated return of Starz’s hit drama series “Power,” the network has announced an early renewal for season 6.
“As ‘Power’ wraps production on season five, we want to acknowledge and thank our spectacular ‘Power’ team for producing another great season,” Starz President of Programming said in a statement. “We are also pleased to announce a pick-up for season six.”

In addition to the big renewal news, Deadline reports, the series’ star and executive producer, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is set to direct the premiere episode for season six.

As the most-watched Starz franchise, the series has averaged 7.4 million multiplatform viewers for all four seasons. While many gravitated toward the series because of 50’s stamp of approval, the remainder stayed because the show is just THAT good.

Created by showrunner Courtney A. Kemp, the series follows the life of the biggest drug dealer in New York City, James St. Patrick, better known as “Ghost”. But, as he attempts to transition from drug dealer to businessman, a series of unfortunate events lead him back to the streets, as he is faced with the harsh reality that he may never get out.
