The NFL has been relatively quiet as we are approaching the NFL draft in three weeks. But this morning, we finally got a move that shook up the league when it was announced that Buffalo Bill star wide receiver Stefon Diggs will be traded to the Houston Texans for a 2025 second-round draft pick. The Bills also sent Houston a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick.
In the past two years, Diggs has expressed his desire to join a new team. The Buffalo Bills have already lost one of their top receivers, Davis, this off-season, so they will likely try to acquire another. There is a lot of competition for wide receivers in free agency and the NFL draft.
The new-look Houston Texans offense:
🏈QB: CJ Stroud
🏈RB: Joe Mixon
🏈WR: Stefon Diggs
🏈WR:Nico Collins
🏈WR: Tank Dell

The Houston Texans continue to make the case for making the best move so far this off-season. Adding an elite receiver like this with their core on offense and quarterback, CJ Stroud, second-year receiver Tank Dell, newly acquired running back Joe Mixon, and Nico Collins should have Houston fans jumping for joy.
In 2023, Diggs caught 107 passes for 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns as he was selected for another Pro Bowl. Diggs had a fantastic chemistry with Josh Allen. Allen is a high-level quarterback, and when he became inconsistent, Diggs was animated and voiced his opinion.
This decision has sent shockwaves through the league. There was no indication that this would happen until last month when Diggs was asked at the Pro Bowl if he would be playing for Buffalo, and he said he was not sure.
“I don’t know. I feel like as far as with the money and all that type of stuff, I can’t control none of that,” he said during an interview with the NFL Network.
“It’s a long offseason in front of me. As far as the future, I don’t have any surprises for you right now.”
Diggs wouldn’t go into specifics during the interview. However, it was evident that tension was brewing that finally overflowed into the all-pro receiver being sent to Houston.
C.J. Stroud passed for over 4,000 yards last season. He is throwing 23 touchdowns and five interceptions and has new weapons added to his repertoire. Diggs will be able to connect with the second-year quarterback fresh off his Rookie of the Year award.
It will be exciting to see what other moves the Houston Texans pull off as the NFL Draft approaches.
