On the latest episode of “The Stephen A. Smith Show” on YouTube, Smith addressed the lawsuit filed by Noushin Faraji, which accuses Bayless of making unwanted advances over several years and attempting to pay her $1.5 million for sex. Bayless, who has yet to comment publicly on the matter, faces allegations that Smith finds hard to believe.
Having known Bayless for 25 years, Smith admitted, “I can’t imagine it,” especially given Bayless’ notorious frugality.
“The Skip Bayless I know has a hard time giving away $15.” Despite hearing details about the lawsuit, Smith emphasized that he had no inside information and was choosing to stay out of it. “I’m not going to get involved,” he said. “I don’t know her. I know Skip.”
Smith also reflected on their professional history, admitting that the idea of Bayless in this situation was “shocking.” He stressed that the Bayless he knew was private, guarded, and extremely selective about who he trusted.
“He’s one of the cheapest people I know,” Smith continued. “But this is a legal matter he has to handle.”
Smith concluded by acknowledging the seriousness of the lawsuit but maintaining that he wouldn’t rush to judgment.
“I can’t be all over the airwaves being irresponsible,” he stated, emphasizing that he could only speak to the person he worked with for years, a person he believes is not the one described in the lawsuit.
The lawsuit highlights countless instances of sexual misconduct being the norm within the Fox corporation. Faraji also claims she was touched inappropriately by executives and privy to sexual relationships taking place within the workplace.
