Stephen Colbert Goes in on Supreme Court Justices Following Leaked Draft Opinion Overturning Roe v. Wade

After news broke out over a decision controlling the lives of many women, entertainers, and just about everyone has come forward with comments about the leaked draft by Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The Late Night Show’s Stephen Colbert is speaking out and says, “Congratulations ladies, decisions about what you can do with your bodies are now being made by four old dudes and a woman that thinks the Handmaids Tales is a rom-com.”

The 1973 landmark protected the right to get an abortion without repercussion.

He starts his monologue by saying, “I wanted to begin tonight’s show talking about the Met Gala,” said Colbert. “I want to talk about their theme of glamor and the Gilded Age. Instead, I’ve gotta talk about another group of out-of-touch people in crazy outfits pretending like it’s 1895: The Supreme Court.”
He blasted Justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett for their decisions.

“If these folks believe that Roe v. Wade was so egregiously decided, why didn’t they tell the senators that during their confirmation hearings?” said Colbert. “Well, because American voters support abortion in all or most cases at 80 percent. They knew that if they were honest, they wouldn’t get the job, so they lied. Which I think is perjury, but what do I know? I’m no Supreme Court justice — I’m not a good enough liar.”
