Steve Harvey is set to host a new courtroom series for ABC.
ABC has commissioned 10 episodes under “Judge Steve Harvey,” a “courtroom comedy series.” Although the multi-hyphenate superstar may not be a real judge in the court of law, the cases in his “courtroom” will be real. Harvey will welcome real people in his court to rule on problems from family disputes to actual little claims. “Steve plays by his own rules, basing his courtroom on his own life experiences and some good old common sense,” remarked the network.
Sometime in 2022, “Judge Steve Harvey” will air on ABC. MysticArtPictures is presently casting for the show, which states it is looking “nationwide for roommates, friends, siblings, neighbors, co-workers and more that have humor, heart, and passion who are ready to settle their case by a legendary celebrity.” All awards and judgments, not the defendant, will be paid by production.
Filming for the series will take place in October and November. Myeshia Mizuno will be the showrunner and executive producer. Steve Harvey, Brandon Williams, and Den of Thieves’ Ignjatovic, Jared Morrell, and Jared Bialkowski will also serve as executive producers.
